FAQ
🔄 Update: Answers to the Most Common Questions About Prior Learning
Q: Does this mean that someone who has taken many courses — like the Yoga Therapist program and others — might only need a few more credits to finish a degree, and could complete it in just one or two sessions? That would make the degree cost under $1,000?
A: Yes, exactly. This is the purpose of our Prior Learning Credit Evaluation — to recognize the years of study and experience you’ve already completed. Many long-time students may only need a few more academic credits to qualify for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree.
Q: Can my job experience, life experience, and other courses I’ve taken (outside of Yogamu) count as college credit too?
A: Yes. Our Portfolio Bootcamp will help you document and reflect on all relevant learning — whether it’s from your work, volunteer activities, teaching, or previous certifications — and apply it toward your degree.
❓How many credits can I earn in one 8-week session?
Each course at Paracelsus University is worth 3 academic credits.
Students typically enroll in 2 – 3 courses per session, which equals 6 – 9 credits over 8 weeks.
However, our programs are competency-based, meaning you’re allowed to move at your own pace within the session.
If you’re highly motivated and focused, you can:
• Complete more than 2 courses
•Many earn 12, 15, 18, or even 21+ credits in a single session
•Some students with prior experience may finish multiple courses quickly
There’s no hard cap — you can complete as many courses as you’re able to master during the 8-week term.
✅ This flexibility allows fast-track graduation for students with strong backgrounds or plenty of time to study.

What are Credits?
📚 Not Sure How University Works? Here’s a Quick Breakdown:
Many of our students are first-time university students or come from non-traditional paths — so here’s what you need to know:
✅ Course = One Class
A course is a single subject. For example:
“Introduction to Integrative Health” is a course.
You must complete it within 8 weeks (avid learners can complete them faster). Courses have assignments and a final assessment.
✅ Credit = The Value of a Course
Each course you complete earns credits. Most courses are worth 3 credits.
To earn your degree, you’ll need:
• 120 credits for a Bachelor’s degree
(At least 30 credits must be completed at Paracelsus University)
• 30 credits for most Master’s degrees
(At least 18 credits must be completed at Paracelsus University)
